Moorland Mandolins

An orchestra for the mandolin family of instruments

Welcome to the Moorland Mandolins homepage.

Moorland Mandolins is a mandolin orchestra based in Devon that was formed in 2022 by a group of enthusiastic amateur players from Devon & Cornwall who regularly get together to play as as a orchestra using mainly the Mandolin Family of instruments.

We enjoy playing a wide range of music from classical, traditional, dance, folk to jazz.

You can find more about us in the pages of the website using the links above.  There you will find more information on what we play, where we practice, and how we operate and manage ourselves as an independent self-funding group.

We have an experienced orchestra leader who leads us through our main rehearsals but we also get together outside of these rehearsals in smaller groups to practice and help each other to get to know the instrument and understand the music in more of a workshop atmosphere.

We love doing what we do and welcome new members who may be interested in joining us and experiencing the pleasure of playing together and performing with others as an orchestra.

We meet at the Moretonhampstead Parish Hall Post Code TQ13 8LL on one Saturday each month. The Hall will be opened at 1pm for those that want to bring a snack lunch before the rehearsal which begins at 2pm.- see Diary Dates on the Events page.
